2010 Meiomi Pinot Noir Belle Glos
It’s sweet!
Sweet-o-rama. This is a wildly sweet and creamy pinot. Not what I’m used to. Lotsa vanilla. Lotsa fruit. A touch of acid to help clean it all up. The tannins are soft.
I don’t quite know what to say about this one, it is like a fruit-lime-cream soda. Except, well, it’s wine, not soda. It’s a pretty big robust Pinot, like a lot of the Pinot’s I’ve had from le Cali. The label says there is some spice to this one, and I can taste it, a bit of spice to it.
It is a mix of grapes from Monterey, Santa Barbara, and Sonoma, so we got the whole gamut, SoCal to NorCal. Have no idea what that actually means, but that’s fine. I guess this gives this “balance” or something.
I guess overall, I can see the appeal of this wine, but it isn’t the goods that I really look for in a Pinot. I prefer a bit more restrained Pinot. For the price though, this is a great tasty wine with lotsa flavor.
