Strong fruity nose on this wine, fruity blast at first sip too, kinda a blackberry, raspberry taste to it. The fruit taste to it is pretty tasty!
While it’s not a thin wine, it isn’t a super thick-o-rama that I might want from a super syrah-o-rama (sorry, shiraz-o-rama. Not too hot, and the tannins kick in just a little to give that nice dry finish. Not too dry though. I’m not feeling over-powered by tannins.
The more the bottle is open, the more the fruit moves back, and the dry tannins of the syrah moves up a bit. Not bad!
Overall, it’s pretty good, though I’m gonna have to try some other Syrahs to see how this measures up. I know I’ve had some other Syrah wines that I have liked a but more.
This wine is 82% Shiraz and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon. Enough for me to basically call it a Syrah.
I’d be happy to drink this again, but I wan to try some other stuff before I would want to come back to this.
Price: $19
Grade: B+
Hi Sean,
You should try their Estate Shiraz. It’s encompasses soft tannins, and a slight oakey/peppery/spice flavour infused with red berryaromas. Great red wine to pair with lamb or steak.
Hoot ‘n Annie Yeah, very fun place, Bev! And a great little walk usnels it’s 105 degrees out, but it’s been a very mild summer, so it works out very well!
Hello Erika:Thank you for stopping by. Although I tried to keep an open mind about this wine, I did have low exeiatctpons, especially after the store manager suggested that I not buy any of the kosher selections.Of the thousands of wine brands in this store (similar to BevMo or Total Wine here in US), there were a total of just four kosher brands Teal Lake, Altoona, Barkan and one other that I can’t recall. I went with the Teal Lake because it was from Australia and was the most expensive choice so I figured that might increase the probability of me liking this wine (I know a triffle way to shop). I did find it funny that the kosher wines were located in a dark corner of the store and shared space with fruit wines and what appeared to be the Australian equivalent of Boone’s Farm.Best,Frank
Wazzup Fellow Writer, What you ˙came up with here surely have me wicekd up to the last sentence, and I hafta say to you I am not that typical man who finish the full length post of blogs because I generally got sick and tired of the junk that is presented searching google on a daily basis and then I just end up checking out the pics and maybe a headline, a paragraph or something like that. But your tag-line and the first few rows were exceptional and it right on the spot grabbed my attention. Thanks for tearing me out of this boring world! Thanks, really.
