Meh.
I’ll try to pick out some of the redeeming qualities of this wine.
I decanted this for an hour or so, it seems like the aroma of this wine just diminished the more it sat out. At one point it seemed like there was nearly nothing there. It has sorta come back.
There is plenty of fruit, and that is fairly smooth, even if the main fruit taste is “grape”. I taste some heat that burns out a lot of other stuff, and a decent amount of acid is kinda burning away other flavors.
This is a southern Rhone, 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre. It is a thinner, lighter style of wine, thought there is more body to this wine than I would expect from how thin this wine tastes. The heft seems to be in alcohol though, so not exactly amazing.
This is decent enough for a Sunday afternoon, though I don’t think I would buy this again. Drinkable, but not amazing.
Cost: $10
Grade: C+
I think this wine is delicious….I am enjoying every sip and intend to see where I can purchase it….as it was a gift.
Hi Carole,
I think I purchased this wine at Whole Foods.
