I was sitting on that ledge after passing through the Partition Archway overlooking the valley and was imagining myself as a native Indian scanning the vast landscape when I seen a massive face Suddenly appear to me the size and scale of the Crazy Horse sculpture I had just been to a week before in the edge of rock formation just across the way. You could make out a distinctive eye and forehead with a proximate nose and mouth silhouetted against the open sky behind. I asked several people around me if they could see the face and when they started looking for one they all were able to see it very quickly without me pointing out its location. Been looking around the Web and can’t find anyone else that has ever seen this despite it being very obvious if your looking for it. Considering its natural the face is very well defined with an almost purpose to its creation, it just blew me away.

I can't remember if I wrote about this or not, but as I was out there, looking at this foreign and strange landscape, I noticed a sense of "realness" of the place.

I love Arches and enjoyed the description of your visit there.

There is something truly remarkable about being surrounded by natural beauty.
