@Dave, castles sound good. I'll take 2.

@Ben, I came back from Thanksgiving weekend ready to rock and roll for the month of December, very true. With respect to finding time, I am lucky I am single. I know how much time girlfriends and families require.

In the end no other alternative than to crush it.

These are good for finding the energy, but the time is sometimes tricky. Gary Vaynerchuk recommends using the time between "putting your kids to bed and 2am" because it's an easy 4-5 hours a day that can add up quickly.

I agree with having a consistent workspace for a project. When I'm between projects at work, I have to completely clear off my desk, evaluate which computers I need to get rid of which I need to keep, clean all surfaces, and re-wire everything (right now I have 6 monitors and three computers) because I only have limited space. This keeps me thinking that a new project is a fresh start and it's like having a different desk for every project.

Also, I'd like to point out that taking a break for me doesn't just mean between working section a and section b. It means weekends and vacations, too. There's nothing more productive than me returning from a much needed long weekend. My heart and mind is 110% into what I'm doing for at least a month following a break like that.

I read somewhere that Cuvier was so productive because he dedicated a special desk in his castle for each project.

Hrm... maybe that's the problem... we need to get some castles dude. So easy now that I think about it.
